Good Evening John,
One of the radio clubs I be long too(O.M.A.R.C.) has the use of a
former Military Installation. Over the last seven years we have been
working to rehab one of the buildings. One of the first things we did was
to install CFL's in the light fixtures. Bad move as the RFI was enough to
drown out the HF spectrum. We since returned to good old Standard light
bulbs. But with them not being manufactured any more, we will need to
switch over to LEDs. One member found some on sale for around $10.00
each. We installed a few to see how they act. So far no bad things to
say. But we will not know how they really are until we replace all them.
We do have LED desk lamps for use at each of the seven operating
stations. The small switcher supplies are nosy, so we plan to run all
those lamps on a good DC source. We can only hope that as the LED lamps
become the norm, they will do more to keeps them RF Quite.
