[Milsurplus] Fwd: BC-611 battery extraction

A friend of mine picked up a nice looking BC-611 at an estate sale. The 
unit had sat for many years up in the attic of a house with the original 
batteries inside. The filament battery was no problem to remove but the 
103 volt battery swelled and is stubbornly stuck in its compartment. My 
friend has taken the top and bottom covers off and tried to push it out 
but no joy. Suggestions?? Should he try and drill through the length of 
the battery and collapse it from the inside??? tnx + 73 John n9hrt
