Saw one at Gilbert for sale for $100 or so a year or two ago. Lot of radio for a little power. The TCS family gives just about as much performance in AM mode for a lot less weight.

Jack, i'd like to find a 653 also, but it seems like 99% of them have been disarticulated. Probably due to weight, disassembled in place. I too likethe looks of the pair. The closest i have been was some years back, andi recall actually carrying one from a store out to my car. The very idea now makes me feel fear. It went for some trade. I'd like to find another, altho i'd have to divest many other sets to be able to justify it. BTW,if anyone has one around just propping open a door, i have 2 of PE-237and an FM-41.-Hue
