Enjoyed seeing you there Nick, though I didn't get much time to chat with
either you or JP.
Also got to meet Ray for the first time. Wonder if you ever went back and
made another offer on the WJ receiver Ray? There's always time for one more
project.
Managed to sell a bunch of stuff including some RU coils and a beastly
RBO-2 that needed some TLC. No bites on the unhacked BC-348R with original
dynamotor, shockmount, and power connector, even though it was priced well
below the average ebay price. Guess it will end up there.
But the biggest highlight for me was finally getting to meet Mike Hanz.
Having exchanged many an email message with him over the last decade and
receiving numerous goodies via the mail, it was so nice to finally put a
face with the name and get to shake his hand. A true gentleman, Mike has
been a HUGE help to me and I know to others on the list as well, not to
mention the incredible aafradio.org site he maintains with numerous manuals
and loads of technical and historic information. Like Nick's site at
navy-radio.com, it represents many hours put forth to present and preserve
this info, making it available to anyone online who wants to take the time
to visit.
As much as I enjoyed selling more 'stuff' and getting it out of my way, the
people really do make the event.
