So, the main connectors to the RF and IF sections, the plugs match sockets 
used in Tek scopes,
is that true?
Now I'm understanding why most people familiar with this radio are 
ex-owners, and why it
was the runner-up against Collins. I would say I'd even enjoy Federal's 
engineers' chagrin
at seeing their competition's product.  But this does demonstrate the value 
of competition.
I noticed the 455 and 1500 kHz mixer outputs are fed into an impedance 
stepdown. That
might be appropriate for the 12AT7 mixer but for the switched-in pentagrid 
mixer when working
dual conversion, not so optimum, I would think.
