For more than you ever wanted to know about the BC-312 and BC-342 see ER #98, Mar. 1997 with a followup in ER #103, Nov. 1997.  On the caps in the RF boxes, a lead to the existing units can be worried off with a long pair of forceps and the replacement caps can then be mounted in accessible, electrically equivalent locations.
