So, some PTs had TBS and some had instead, ARC-4 ? 
Summer 2014  "WWII Quarterly" article on PTs, "A PT 
Boat Skipper's Life", PT-375 commander Hank Blake 
mentions using the TBS. A photo shows a ground plane
looking antenna with 8 plane spokes. Also mentions 
'listening to a ballgame on the radio', which is an 
interesting offduty use of the TCS.  
The PT-375 was an Elsco boat placed in service August
1943.
