[Milsurplus] Improving the BC-348 use more knobs

Because members of this list treasure this type of radio, as do I, here is
an unusual request. I just bought this gem. I am prepared to have it packed
and shipped by UPS but I shudder to trust UPS' packaging. Is there anyone
close enough to this whizzo BC-348 who is willing to pick it up, pack it and
ship it north to the Sacramento area for some extra cash, wampum, or
possible trade goodies?? 

If so, please contact me asap at (sorry  to cause frustration but to foil
the spam bots the following number is scrambled a bit):

Area code is same as a Kenwood transceiver that succeeded the 520 (same 5xx
series).   Next three digits are backwards: 443.  Last four are straight up
8088.

I’d love to find out what all those knobs do and share the info!!
