Finding loads of unprocessed data tapes is by no means rare. I was in a
surplus warehouse maybe 20 years ago. There were perhaps 100 skids of
almost brand new IRIG instrumentation tapes from an OV-? mission. Each
skid has maybe 40 cartons of a dozen or more 14" reela of 1"
instrumentation tape. That's a lot of tape. A lot of taxpayer $$$ too.

It sat there for several years from what I remember.
