"Seattle" in this case was a kind of shorthand, same as with some other shorestations associated with big cities but located outside them (of course).If i recall, "Seattle" is the way it was listed in the old ITU books, altho thebooks also gave the actual lat-long location. Mackay also apparently atone time, right before WW2 i think, had a station north of Seattle (would beMountlake Terrace now. ) And the US Army had a RTTY complex thereabouts also til about 1966, with receiver site in Lynnwood and transmittersite at Silver Lake. "Acres of rhombics".One interesting thing to discover in freq cards is the channels listed in hambands. These are documentation of the past, great finds. Sometimes evenpenciled notations are kinda cool. I had an ARR-15 with "BARB" penciled
next to one of the channels (as in "N.A.S." ) I had a German aircraft radarwith the penciled notation on what trouble put it out of service. Serviceshop just couldn't get to it in a timely manner, tho. -Hue
