[Milsurplus] Putting the BC-223 on 160 Meters

Have a BC-223 with a TU-17 tuning unit that bottoms
out about 1980 KC?  You can go all the way down to 
the bottom of 160 meters without opening either the
transmitter or the tuning unit.

Turn the MO tuning down to Zero (0).
Unplug the TU-17 tuning drawer.  Install a 110 pFd
silver mica padding capacitor by clamping one lead under
a screw.  Then just stick the other lead into the hole for
banana pin #9, thus:

Plug the tuning unit back in.  Key the transmitter and adjust 
the OSC TRIMMER to set the MO at 1800 KC.
Tune-up the rig and reset the PA TRIMMER.  
It will juuuust make it to 1800 KC.  
I've already got this one working FM on 1816 KC.
