Current number of "World War II" magazine has a nice full page color photo of (staged)
use of BC-669 in a quonset hut at Adak. Fellow next to the man with the BC-669 handset
seems to be wearing an Army field switchboard operator's chestset. On top the 669 looks
to me a small civilian radio, of the kind then called "midget" style. ( I'd like other opinion
on this item. )
Also in an article on D-Day, mentions use of BC-611/ SCR-511 on beach.
Also an article on a GI who continued advancing and fighting even with his teeth blown
out and part of jaw shot away. He survived and is interviewed. Now THAT is a real
man.
