Well filling my in box with SPAM that I did not order, and apparently hit
reply all to a cross posted list mail when I should not have, is NOT the way
to operate a list and there are specific rules against signing people up on
mailing lists without their knowledge. And if you want to see bedlam, then
take away those rules and watch your email box go to mega-overload. Some
order is required in this world of commercial and private entities that
would take advantage of anything.
While personal freedom and less regulation is high on my list also, in this
case regulation is good - it is there already for a good reason and we
should use it.
There are rules against ratchet dialed auto dialed Marketing calls and opt
out regulations. How would you like to get a high volume of marketing calls
on all of your phones day and night?
There are rules against SPAM mailing list signups and opt out..
Try taking those two rules away and see what happens. Your computer and your
phone would be useless.
All of this theoretical freedom is wonderful, but in this world of a..holes,
it is totally impractical... We need to be realistic here. and we need to
use the list to get this changed.

Oh right!
Those guys made a post to the list to start the whole process. So then they
wanna holler abuse? We should take them to court in a countersuit for
posting their spam to the list in the first place. Do you really
*WANT* more federal regulation? What about all the spelling errors. Is that
going to be next?
Come on now get real. Nobody is trying to spam anybody here. Maybe about
time to just let this dog go back to sleep and get back to boat anchors and
ARC5ers.
