speaking of later craft....<grin> I want to have a B-52 to house
some of our ECM gear! always wanted a B-52 as a kid..... and a
corsair... and one of the x-15's.... the corsair wish came along later in
life as an artifact of watching baa baa black sheep I suppose.... Ed

I can think of no higher calling for WW2 avionics than to reside and be
operated in an authentic WW aircraft. I know others have vastly different
views on this subject.

I donated some mil surplus radio gear and labor for a PV2 Harpoon that
crashed a few years ago. I'd gladly do it again.

That ultra rare Helldiver restoration is just amazing. Hats off to
Vultures Roost. I hope they get all the WW2 avionics needed for a complete
suite and a skilled worker to bring them back to life.

Too bad the US govt. was so strict about selling post WW2 military
aircraft. Can you imagine a B 36 warbird? Fire up ten engines and head for the
next airshow. Work some guys on 3870 AM with the ARC 21 enroute. Can you
imagine a B 58 warbird with a working star tracker nav system? Just kidding but
its not a completely absurd fantasy. The Brits have a private Vulcan jet
bomber fully operational.
