Sorry to hear the W2NSD has now gone upstairs to operate the big rig. I read a lot of his stuff back in the 70's when he started heavily into computer stuff. Never met the man but i'm sure he had a lot of outstanding qualities and contributed heavily to the furthering of Amateur radio.

Today i have a list of CQ mags going back to 1947 to dispose of. They been around awhile and some little mites have dined well on some of the spines. I guess they like the glue. There is a lot of good radio information in these and you can see the progress being made as the years go along. I've been pouring over articles looking for ideas on tube based power supplies, speech amps, modulators and so on and finding a wealth of info. Articles on AM vs SSB, the Antenna scope of which i have one here in excellent to like new condition but had no idea how it worked or what it really did. This is the era that new hams should learn abut. Its really where the basics of radio started being enhanced. I wish in the early 50's when i got interested in getting a ticket i had had access to CQ and QST but didn't know anything existed outside of the HS library.

So here we go:

1947: October
1948: July and August
1948: 1 complete year
1949: September, October and November
1949: 1 complete year
1950: Jan., July, Oct., Nov. & Dec.
1951: April, May, June, July & Aug.
1951: all except for November
1952: 1 complete year
1952: February
1953: 1 complete year
1953: April, September & Oct.
1954: 1 complete year
1954: August
1955: 1 complete year
1955: all but January
1956: 2 complete years
1956: March, May, July, August, October & Dec.
1957: 1 complete year

As for QST mags, i have complete years from the 1920's thru 1960's in ARRL maroon colored hardcover binders. Lots of misc as well as complete years since then as well in the larger size issue.

The smaller issue CQ and QST mags i can get close to 3 complete years worth in a mid-sized Flat rate box from the Post office. All magazines with the exception of the 1920 and 1930 QST and CQ are $5 per year plus postage. I've got 3 bookcases with 4 shelves each plus assorted boxes of the magazines that would like to find new homes. It would do wonders for my garage floor. It is beginning to complain about the weight. I will be going to the LA-San Diego area in November and can haul them along with some gas help. Possibly a trip to eastern Texas in December over the holidays and could bring some along at that time as well, again with some help with petrol costs comrad! Probably a good thing my truck doesn't burn coal or i could get stranded!.
