It's interesting that you mention Patton's grandson, Mr. Waters. His dad, Johnny Waters, was an infantry officer who was captured in North Africa. In early 1945, Patton sent an armored task force (Task Force Baum) to rescue Waters, who was held in a POW camp in Germany. The mission back-fired and has been a topic of some controversy.
