[Milsurplus] Jury Rig as nautical term, per Clete

Exactly the opposite, IMO.

Jerry rig is a corruption of an olde naval term, Jury Rig..,  an emergency
sail lashed together, using a boom as a mast, for something like a
lifeboat.
