Then there is the adjective: 

     "Hanz-ish:"  
   Descriptive term applied to electronic or electrical items
   of the WWII-era used for other than radio communication,
   usually black wrinkle-painted, which one cannot otherwise identify
   but are, nevertheless, very cool looking
   i.e. once Top Secret ECM accessories and doo-dads.
   Usage: "I dunno what it is, but it looks Hanz-ish to me...."
