I use NEVER SEEZ, a graphite loaded anti seize grease that's conductive. Works well on my Weller gun.

It is very messy so be sure to get it off the exterior after your thread the tip. It is a terrific anti seizure lube used in many commercial marine applications. Old engine bolts and rigging fasteners come out so smoothly even decades later if their threads were treated with NEVER SEEZ. If you can stand the mess it's a great rust preventer too. We used it on exposed turnbuckle threads with great results.

NEVER SEEZ REGULAR GRADE

The “original” anti-seize compound and extreme pressure lubricant formulated with copper, graphite, aluminum and other ingredients to protect metal parts against rust, corrosion and seizure up to 1800ºF. Specified by BMW, Mercedes, GE D6Y28A1, Garrett Engine Division PCS5724, Pratt & Whitney PWA 36053-2 and tested to MIL-A-907.

I have no connection to the mfr, just a long time satisfied user. Second gen too, my Dad was never without a can on our commercial fishing boat.
