[Milsurplus] R 383/ CRD2 info please

My friend picked up a R 383 receiver at the MRCG Meet. It looks to be a repackaged AR 88 receiver that was part of a DF set.

The nomenclature plates on the front panel reads:

R 383 / CDR 2
s/n 72
Specialty Assembling & Packing

 Contract date looks to be 1950

 In the back of the receiver there is port for video out. So guessing this went to a pan display.

 Anybody have anything on this set as all I could find was tha CRD2 was a radio DF set and nothing at all on just the receiver . As always any help is appreciated.
