ARC-192 and the ARC-186 were the main airborne radios in at least
the 70's up thru to the early 90's
Don't remember which was which but one was VHF and the other was UHF
and both were AM.
UHF freq range was 225MHz - 399.975MHz
VHF freq range has been forgotten (bad case of CRS)
If I could find my manuals for the TSC-107 van I could tell you a
lot more.
One thing I do remember, these two radios were the only two radios
that USAF Ground Radio Maint. were NOT allowed to fix, and it was
said that we could fix everything. We were only allowed to do PMIs
on them. If they broke, we had to send them to the folks that fixed
aircraft radios. But they never broke. They were a darn rugged
little radio.
Hope this helps some.
