A new Norwegian movie portraying the Kon-Tiki expedition opened April 26 in
the USA.
The New York Times does not review it very favorably, calling it mostly "a
dull affair"
and "largely bereft of tension and interesting conversation." Also quotes
anthropologist
that Thor Heyerdahl's theory that Pacific Islanders originated in South
America ignored
overwhelming evidence to the contrary and so was patently false.
Regardless, I suspect
many of us will want to at least look at the film, particularly maybe for
the "good parts"
of interest to us radio enthusiasts. The newspaper also apparently found it
disconcerting
and odd that two versions of the movie were made, one in Norwegian and one
in English.

They have a short excerpt of the two versions at

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/04/12/movies/kon-tiki-comparison.html?ref=movies&_r=0

if this link fails, go to

nytimes.com/movies

scroll down the right column until you find, "Same Scene, Different
Languages".

The NY Times review of the movie is at, for a limited time, open access:

Sending this to a military radio group also, as the expedition included a
British clandestine
radio B2 set, along with hand cranked generator - as well as the National
Radio Company
equipment.
