I've used the BC-339 in a RTTY mode with the BC-340.
USAF AACS After WWII.
Lot of them, and Press Wireless amplifiers, in use
before the MS amps came out.
They come apart with knurled screws, but only to facilitate
maintenance. They have some nice soft aluminum, but thick,
sides which can be removed easily. Only one Kilowatt CW,
but the BC-340 took it up to 10 KW. Back then all good
transmitters were heavy. I think the basic racks were shipped
empty, the major component shelves (?) were shipped
separately. For those AACS types who know what I mean,
I was in I&M and E&I on two overseas tours. But my time
maintaining and operating those things started at Andrews
in 1950.
