Someone was asking about T-17 microphones a while back,
wanting to know the differences between the models. As it
happens I am in the never ending process of trying to
organize the shop/shack, and wound up with all my
T-17s in one place for once. So here is the info
on the few I have to get the ball rolling.

1. T-17 Order number 424-NY-40 Cast metal housing.
SW-109 switch, straight cord. The plug is a Kings
PJ-068 so I assume the mic was rebuilt at some point.
This mic actually sorta kinda works with no changes.
Output is OK (for a T-17, that is) and sounds fair.

2. T-17-B Order number 10172-Phila-44. Black plastic (or
bakelite) housing, strain relief nut on bottom of mic.
Coiled cord. PL-68 plug. SW-109 switch. This mic has
output also, but is very, very high peaked and scratchy sounding.

3. T-17-D CAAG manufacture. Box says Universal Microphone
Company, Inglewood, California. Order 10612-Phila-44.
Grey plastic housing similar to #2. SW-217 microphone switch. This
one came new in box, with no plug. Whether the plug was
cut off or never installed, I don't know. Came
with a cloth cover (M-367 as listed on box) over the mouthpiece.
This mic had very low output when I tested it.

4. I think this was a T-17 at one point, but was
rebuilt as an M-15/UR. Has a deep microphone element
housing holding what looks like a noise cancelling
cartridge. This microphone has no cord, and the cartridge
is stone dead. This one has a cast metal housing similar
to #1 listed above and an SW-109 switch. The SW-109 was
broken, the long plastic arm holding the leaf switch had
snapped off main body.

Just some more arcane trivia to add to the pile.
