[Milsurplus] [ARC5] ARB Canvas Cover

Those are certainly valid questions. ZB-*, DU-*, GP-*, and GO-*
equipment come to mind most quickly. But why would one need covers for
USAAF BC-*** test equipment (or for Navy equivalents) that were used in
the hanger deck? With the greatest of respect, I might suggest getting
a copy of the Aircraft Radio Maintenance Notes (ARMN) and getting back
to the original authors with those questions. :-)

I'm not gonna attempt to defend the photographs of corrosion problems
nor the cautions with respect to certain Navy aircraft "leakers" in 1944
and 1945. Folks like Robert Downs, Mike Morrow, and others on this
reflector clearly understand the reality of the surface vessel flight
deck in the pacific far better than I can even begin to articulate. The
only salt spray in my teeth was on the patio of a Navy Officer's Club in
Panama during a Pacific storm. Exhilarating, even a bit tastey, but of
little use for the issue you raised.

I'm not being obdurate - simply describing what I see in the documents I
have here, and what the limitations of my data represent. I can
speculate from here to Sunday....but debate? I'm not qualified in the
environment beyond reading and summarizing the printed word.

Very 73,
-Mike
