A very interesting example of high craftsmanship in recreating the apparatus
of the past.
I wonder, will there be a kit for the B-2 out there somewhere?

Recently I was given a heavy duty gear motor and speed
controller. I have had a mold for the Feldfu radio cases for
over a decade but no machine to cast them with. At the time
I had access to a large rotational casting machine. The
company closed right after my first production run and I
lost access to it The motor and controller is 75% of the
cost of the machine so I decided to build my own. I have
some final fine tuning to do on the mold but I should be
casting the first one this week. I posted a video here:

The next step is to make a CNC program for the hinges and
other hardware bits. I still have the CAD drawings I made
for the first production run so it shouldn't take too long.

Is anyone still interested in getting these radios? I am
going to produce them as a kit.

I made the first casting in the Feldfu mold today. I didn't
have any slower setting resin for rotocasters so I had to
use some old fast setting resin. The resin cooked off before
completely coating the mold but the casting looks pretty
good. (Old resin is very unpredictable) I will order some
rotocasting resin for the production run.

I used 1.2 liters of resin for this pour so I will likely
need 1.4 liters for the final case. I am still figuring out
the cost of the resin so I can't give a kit price just yet.
I should have a price shortly

( H M adds: Feldfunk = manpack radio series in various frequency bands from
27 MHz up to 110 MHz, short distance,
4 tube radio. Fusprech is vehicle voice radio 24-25 MHz. )
