All this talk about authors of the past caused me to dig out the 3
copies of EI I've had for decades. The first one was March 1966 and on
the front cover it introduces an "exciting new reader participation
feature" called Uncle Tom's Corner.

I think the "about the author" bit must have been written by him.

"Tom Kneitel has been called an irascible misanthrope, a rabble rouser
and the dirty old man of electronics. Whatever he's called, Tom has had
a greater influence on hobby electronics in recent years than any other
author. As the leading shortwave listening writer, he once took a major
hand in shaping that avocation. He then gave the Citizen's Band it's
name and was instrumental in making it into the world's most dynamic
radio service."

Not in the March issue but in the November 1966 issue EI (2nd copy I
have) the Ham Shack column appears edited by Wayne Green.

Reading these issues sure takes me back.and of course the Lafayette &
Allied catalogue cards are missing for good reasons.
