Radio Magazine morphed into CQ Magazine just after World War II. CQ was
published under the ownership of several persons who had been associated with
Radio Magazine before, and during, World War II. Sanford Cowan gained
total ownership of CQ within a relatively short period of time after CQ was
first published. At that time, CQ was then owned by Cowan Publishing which
published the magazine for several decades before selling out to the present
owners.
I was the first FM Editor of CQ from January 1971 until September 1973.

Yepper it was a great computer mag....
"Radio" mag. went though many phases... in the end was a Amateur
publication BUT..
started out in the teens as spark wireless went to broadcast stuff
then went to radio servicing and the radio shop... then to Amateur
focus...
We have the while run bound with exception of one of the issues
form the teens I think. close to 30 years ago Lester Rayner sold us
his
bound set... was not cheap... but... was priceles in the fact I
did not have to hunt issues...
I love it because of the West coast Slant it had. you will find
stories and products in there you will not find in qst, radio news
etc...
