I don't know the history of Wayne's computer magazines but I'm sure on the 
classic computers
groups there's a wealth of mostly unpublished knowledge on this.
At one time Wayne seemed to think that a road to riches was creating a 
magazine empire.
Unfortunately, he kind of came to this conclusion around the time the era of 
paper published
magazines was drawing to a close. Some of his attempts at launchings didn't 
get very far,
and maybe weren't all that well thought out, such as "Radio Fun" and that 
music CD review
magazine, name I can't recall.
As for the megabucks he got for his publishing so-called empire, I am 
thinking that WG-
debunking booklet I have, seems to say that this was more WG propaganda, 
that he really
walked away with something not much over $200K.
