OK. Relatively low frequency. UHF RADAR.

I'm not so sure the adjustment is supposed to be tinkered with. I cannot
offhand think of a proceedure to adjust it in a RADAR without a boxfull of
mixer diodes to blow.

I think the 1285 MHz is the upper limit of frequency, not the operating
frequency. The screw is to adjust the breakdown voltage, not a frequency
adjustment, IMO.
