That's an interesting item.  Thanks for posting it.

That Howard 430 looks great...it's a 1939 set.  Unfortunately, it is one of the
most simple six-tube BC and SW receivers made, lacking an RF amplifier and having
only one IF amplifier.

It surprises me that it was serviceable for SW broadcasts originating in Europe,
presumably *not* being broadcast local to North America by a relay station.
