I've noticed equipment listings from the estates of silent keys 
are increasing lately. Many sellers don't have any idea what they have or what to do with it, unless the estate was willed to a knowledgeable friend. 
I recently notified my children who are now in their 30's and 40's
that I will be attaching QR code tags to my equipment.

QR codes can identify not only what the piece is, but the value at the time or what one paid for an item, or possibly who one would leave the part to after passing. 
Very easy to do and would save equipment from the trash pile...
