[Milsurplus] Merrill's Generator

Dennis,

This is just a guess but with the tube transmitters of the time, I don't
think much more than what the BC-474, BC-654 or BC-1306 output would have been
realistically practical. i.e., not 50 watts. Total power out of the
common generators that I have the nameplate ratings on, including HV and LV, is
as follows:

GN-37 74W
GN-45 78W
GN-58-A 68.615W

Given the amount of grumbling that has been mentioned about cranking the
generators, and the overall efficiency of the radios, more must not have been
considered practical, at least not hand cranked. With a leg cranked unit, I
could see a little more, maybe 100W total out.
