That the PRC-1 used an 807 does not rule out handcrank generator
power. Just makes it more, "strenuous". The BC-654 and MBM
and TRC-10 all drew substantial current at 6 volts. The MBM and
TRC-10 both used 6 volt tubes throughout, not battery tubes.
The TRC-10 is pretty much the same radio as the PRC-1 but the
AC supply was an external accessory.
I briefly entertained the thought that perhaps the theater-built
radios that used V-100 parts, were named by their users, PRC-1,
but that's a bit speculative.....
