Note the absence of a whip antenna in that picture as well.  Long wire  
or the "T" antenna described in the TM? Can't tell from the grainy pix.

generator.  The unit in the picture looks like the one that went with  
the BC-474, though, which radios are known to have been provided to  
our Chinese allies.
