[Milsurplus] TBY Ship antenna

Steve, I don't have the TBY ship antenna manual around here, and I don't
have the
FAIR catalog that listed it. Probably some other member here can come up
with the
Navy number for the antenna.

I recall meeting and talking with Viggo Conradt-Eberlin of Seattle. Oddly
enough,
I lived for year within a block of his house in Seattle, this around '73,
but radio
was the last of my interests then. I finally met him maybe 15 years later. I
was
interested in talking about his wartime experience, but the one visit was
kind
of rushed. He had a TBW transmitter in the basement he wanted to sell, but
it
was way too big for me. He told me he was on the ship of some task force
commander in the Pacific and he had improved the TBS antenna for greater
range and that he'd had disk recorder at the bridge to record off the TBS.
He also had some kind of wartime scrapbook about an inch thick that I would
have loved to have seen and I still wonder what ever happened to it. Viggo
told me he "knew Marconi", so there was some percentage of fluffery in
what he told me. Still, an opportunity not taken.

Hue, I have a couple antennas old ship board ground planes, do you have any
idea of the part numbers or maybe length of the elements? I seem to recall
two different size elements, for the two antennas. They are behind a bunch
of other stuff. Steve
