I kicked a hole in the wall of our hallway as a tempestuous teenager. My Dad didn't smack me - he made me fix it, as Bill recommended, using nothing but the best of materials and, of course, the entire wall had to be re-textured, primed and painted so it all matched....... 

I have as deep appreciation of good drywall work as a result, hihi!
