Well I finally got a minute to dig-out those convoy logs
and can't find the references- at least, not yet.
References to "Task Commander" but no TGC so far.
So my memory of these acronyms is probably faulty.
I blame Father Time, the sneeking old twit.

I am grateful that the thread got me looking at 
these logs again.  They are interesting reading and
de-cyphering the "shorthand" and "code words" is fun.
