[Milsurplus] Solid state PRC-6

Good afternoon to the group,
 
Last week I picked up a very nice pair of PRC-6's.  When I opened them  up 
I was surprised to find that they had been solid stated.  They use the  
standard PRC-6 chassis, but the tubes have been replaced with solid state  
components, and the whole thing is run off of 8 "D" cells.
 
Does anyone have information on this conversion?  It looks very  
professional.
