[Milsurplus] Mil stuff going to Dayton

I've only been once myself, Dave. I can tell you that Dayton is not a lot
different than ebay when it comes to pricing. You have the biggest crowd
with more folks competing for the good stuff, so prices tend to be on the
high side - though there are deals to be had, too. Myself and a buddy
bought out a case of NOS 4-400s with 1989 date codes from a fellow for
something around $50-$75 each(can't recall). I also saw a fairly clean
R-389 priced well over $2K that was reduced about $1K and still hadn't sold
by Saturday. So people aren't entirely out of control.
Plenty of folks there who are very proud of their wares. Also folks like
Nick and JP/K4OZY who will send you away with an armload if you show the
slightest amount of interest.
The best thing about Dayton for me was getting to meet a lot of folks from
these lists or worked on the air. The social aspect is far more enjoyable
now that I have more than enough 'stuff'.
