Ralph -
I went through this on my I-177B tester almost all the carbon resistors 
were out of spec, on the high side +15%.  I purchased metal film 1% to 
replace them.  Values as stated in the parts list and cross checked with 
schematic/confirmed by the color code on the resistor in place.  You 
know those pesky field mod's.
