Will do. I have inquiries out to folks who are savvy of late olive drab radar thingies. Odd that there's nothing on Google concerning it.

My assumption is that the top assembly is an omnidirectional radar antenna & the bottom appears to mount on some support like a tripod. No obvious sign of any crypto function as far as coded replies to interrogation. Appears to be very similar in function to the AN/PPN-1 Eureka. Since most aircraft in Nam with radar were ships like the C-130, I can envision this as a poor man's portable VOR in remote fire bases like Khe Sanh, allowing the aircaft to vector in on the beacon. If that's the case, this could be Marine Corps.

I saw it and was considering picking it up them remembered I have yet to find 
info on the one I already have.  Very cool device inside, very compact for its 
time.  I don't have the battery pack and mine is a little rougher looking.  Let 
me know if you find out anything.
