Clete,
Could be the K-53 mounted SCR-566 (KE-3). BC-639 and part of SCR-542.
Antenna Equipment RC-83. Radios are dynamotor operated.
Could be the K-53 mounted SCR-575. Similar to SCR-566 except 2 X BC-639
(RC-79) and SCR-624. Antenna Equipment RC-153. AC operated (RA-42's & RA-62)
with dynamotor backup.
Brief descriptions and photos are in VHF Fighter Control Equipment Handbook
(Companion volumn to Airborne Radio Equipment Handbook) with some photos.
Reprint available (AAFHBK2 - $22.50). I don't have anything further on
SCR-566 but do have the Preliminary Instruction Book on SCR-575-A,-B (reprint
$8.50). It has some information on the antenna. And dipole lengths are in a
chart in AAFHBK2.
That's the crop as far as the DF stuff goes. I have more on the COMM and
CONTROL sets.
