[Milsurplus] 14 volt C 47s? 14 volt RCAF fighters?

It seems like most pre war aircraft were 12-14 volt and there was a standard
change sometime going into the war. Some trainers were manufactured with
12-14 volt systems like the SNJ-4 at NASM. The SNJ-4 is still a 12-14 volt
aircraft and has a date of manufacture of 6-43 and a Pensacola overhaul date
of 6-53. I would have thought that it may have received an upgrade to 24-28
volt system during the post war Navy overhaul but it did not. She still has
an SCR-183 installed and there are placards warning of the 12 volt system at
the GPU plug and on the BC-347.
Sure would like to see the documentation/correspondence about the change to
24 volt. I'd bet it is in the Sarah Clark collection at National Archives.

Wasn't the original C47 a 12V (14V) system and the C47A upgraded to 24V
(28V)?
A common RCAF system was the AT1 & AR2/6 where the AR2 was 14V and the
AR6 28V.
The TR9 family of xmtr/rcvrs used in early Spits had to carry their own HT &
LT battery supply.

would think it would add weight in larger conductors needed due to lower
voltage.
