I am trying to recall whether my ATR-11 used 12. Oh wait, I think it was 
switchable, 12-24.
No one apparently told the Japanese about the advantages, for about half 
their aircraft
radios used a 6 volt source.

Re the 6D6 series change out in HRO to minis, I find when handling tubes, 
the old pear
shaped 6D6s just feel better and fill the hand better. When you plug one in, 
like a new
spare right from the box, you feel like you're really doing man's work.
