As the G.E. label on the remnants of the original shipping carton, shown 
in one of the large photos, PLAINLY states: "1 RADIO TRANSMITTER 
BC-375-E (WITHOUT MOUNTING OR TUBES)". So, the tubes were not in the 
unit to be "pinched" to begin with.
