[Milsurplus] Attaching cable to MS connectors

1. Pre tinning wire and pre filling the cups with solder works when the wire
is much smaller than the pin. Not so good when the wire is 12GA and the pin
is 20 amp.
2. Forgot to add in my original that I always put the connector in my Dremel
vise and lay cable out on bench so it is pre alingned to assemble and clamp
cable to bench so it stays in position. Leaves both hands free.
3. A bit of wet sponge clamped to the wire is a non destructive heat sink.
Also less offensive than drooling spit on the wire to keep it cool.
Admittedly teflon tubing is nice and won't shrink but sometimes heat shrink
tubing is a requirement---as in specified that way.
4. A proper temperature controlled iron with the right tip is an essential
tool.
5. Placement of all the ring, shell, clamp parts preceeding the connector on
the cable FIRST even on cable where the other end is open is good training
so you don't forget those other times when it isn't open.
