Johyn,,

If there was a comprehensive maintenance manual, I've never heard of 
it.  Since calibration and printing of the calibration books of these 
sets was performed on an elaborate automated test system, I'd bet that 
anything beyond the simplest repairs that didn't affect the variable or 
crystal oscillator required returning the instrument to a repair depot, 
or perhaps even the original manufacturer.  No doubt such facilities had 
detailed repair and overhaul data, but it apparently wasn't distributed 
outside these labs.  It sure would be interesting to get ahold of a 
copy, if any exist...
