The 39th annual East Coast Rally Military Vehicle Show, Swap Meet & Flee Market is in progress this weekend. It started on Thursday and will be going on until Saturday. It is located at the Ripkin Stadium outside of Aberdeen Maryland just off I-95 There are 650 spaces available and according to there web site they always sell out although I was there today and saw many empty spaces in the last two or three rows but just from my own observation would say at least sixty to seventy percent of the flee market spaces are occupied. I do not know what will be there tomorrow (Saturday) but in the past when I have been there on Saturday it was not as well attended as Friday. There are at least five or six dealers there selling mostly ground radio equipment, GRC/VRC type stuff although I did see one BC-348 and an ART-13 both for sale (different sellers), VRC-12 family stuff is for sale everywhere with radios selling between $250 and $350, mounts and other accessories in the $20 price rang and lots of antennas and brackets. Three GRC-106 sets with mount and cables for $450 per set but they were assumed to be not working and working 106 sets for more. Couple PRC-25 and 77 sets one that I saw Mr. Smith sell for $250 working with antenna and handset. I brought out a Russian R-107 transceiver to give it a test run before Dayton and with Mr. Smith and several others an impromptu net was held on 51.0 and then 29.6 FM, Breck did demonstrate his latest display. An OD green Huffy with a plate attached to the front bars that held a PRR-9 and a PRT-9 receiver and transmitter and he demonstrated operating bicycle mobile with that configuration. All together not a bad day, I did buy some cables and connectors being that type of stuff can be purchased around the same cost or a little lower then on line and threes no shipping.
