The BC-216 was used by the Army Air Corps in
the pre-war years and through WWII,
usually in conjunction with the SCR-183
Aircraft Command Set, the ancestor of the famous
SCR-274N, commonly (and incorrectly) known as "ARC-5."
After the start of the war, it would have remained in
service in any aircraft in which it was already installed,
but be limited to training and light aircraft installations
in CONUS after about early 1943.
It may have been found installed in any type of early USAAC
aircraft, but was standard in any aircraft equipped with
SCR-183 and more than one seat.
Cool piece, by the way.
SCR-183 deserves way more attention than it gets.
